  3. 7.1  Description

  5.      BSC RJE, or Remote Job Entry, transfers files between IBM main-
  6. frames and HP systems.  Files sent to IBM mainframes can be JCL programs
  7. (or jobs) to be executed on the mainframe.  Output from the jobs, e.g.
  8. printouts, can be returned over the BSC RJE connection.  BSC RJE also
  9. transfers files between non-IBM systems that support the BSC RJE proto-
  10. col.

  12.      HP sells BSC RJE for DIO-based Series 300 and 400 workstations.
  13. Telemon, a third-party, provides BSC RJE capabilities for the Series 800
  14. through an external "black box" that provides BSC RJE interface to the
  15. IBM host and provides a asynchronous interface to the HP system.
